Girl Walk // All Day

Last Thursday I went to the premiere of Girl Walk // All Day, a highly enjoyable, full-length dance movie set to Girl Talk’s album All Day. The premiere was held at the Masonic Lodge in Fort Greene and was actually more of a dance-a-long than a screening, with the three central characters all in attendance. The film follows “The Girl,” a ballerina who dances from the Staten Island Ferry to Central Park with many detours along the way, as she encounters “The Gentleman,” an elegant tap dancer,” and “The Creep,” a hip-hop dancer clad in a skeleton outfit, as well as a few recognizable NYC dancers (and a cameo by Bill Cunningham?!). It was really fun, and four chapters of it are online! (The rest of it will be released in the coming weeks.) So I thought I would share them with you all. It’s also a great tour of modern New York. Check it out, and feel free to dance:
